The Public Defender Board is comprised of 9 individuals, each nominated by
the Governor and appointed with the advice and consent of the Senate. Members serve
staggered 3-year terms, and at least 5 are to be members of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Of their many duties, the Board is to submit the budget for the agency to the Governor.
